Celesians tend to be dark-haired and of medium skin tone. Distinct racial differences used to exist between the Houses on different continents. Black hair and dark skin was common among the people of the Southern archipelago. Brown hair is the most common color among the equatorial Continents, and records exist showing the people of the Northern Continent having red or blonde hair and fair skin. These defining attributes were blurred after the Unification. From that time all physical differences were related to House affiliation rather than geographical locale. Blonde hair experienced a brief resurgence among the nobility as those individuals bred within their own Houses. Inbreeding also introduced unique mutations among some families, traits that eventually became synonymous with particular bloodlines and Houses. These characteristics were surpressed with the elimination of the Great Houses.
